 The tree work on our property was completed this morning as Ossie coordinated the pick-up of the trees.  The yard looks amazing and our view is incredible. As you know, I was a bit concerned that we would lose a bit of the “woodsy” feeling without those lovely dead trees around, but it truly looks and feels great.  We still have PLENTY of trees!  I want to let you know how incredibly pleased we were with your tree crew.  The team, under Clark’s leadership was amazing.  Clark, Ossie and Matt were very professional, engaging and respectful during the entire process.  They communicated every step of the process, and cleaned the property better than when they started!  I am sure you know that you have a great  team, but wanted to share our experience.

 Your tree division removed more than 20 trees of various dimensions from our yard and some were over 80’ tall.  Mark and his crew were very courteous and professional throughout the 4 days they worked in our yard.  It was a pleasure to watch the crew perform their tasks with efficiency.  On one occasion I had the opportunity to watch the crew work for several hours.  They worked tirelessly and were obviously well versed in tree climbing and cutting.  They took great care in moving several large trees from around our home.  Having the proper equipment sure makes the job look easy.  They left the yard very clean and they were very thorough.

The tree crew was amazing to watch. I observed them start their morning by discussing their safety concerns and executed their work throughout the day with amazing precision. They were also very respectful of our property and residents.  Mark and his crew were also called upon after the large Thanksgiving Day Snow storm 2 years ago. Mark and his crew arrived in short notice to clean up and remove any dangerous limbs, once again proving their value and reliability as a great service provider.

I’m very pleased to offer a letter of recommendation for Belknap Landscape Company.  As the property manager at several condominium communities on Lake Winnipesaukee, primarily second homes, I rely on Belknap Landscape to keep the grounds safe and attractive.  Their work is a direct reflection on me.

 Samoset, where I have my office in Gilford, is one community in particular where BLC has had a lasting presence since it opened in the mid-1980’s.  I see Belknap’s work here every day, and believe me, with 138 units, each with at least “two sets of eyes,” I hear about every issue owners may have.  Samoset is a beautiful community, and the owners rightfully expect a lot from their condo fees.  (Landscaping and snow removal are usually the largest yearly expense for most condominiums).  While there may be a minor complaint here or there, I am complimented all spring, summer, and fall on how well the property looks, and on how well it’s plowed in the winter. 

 With the demands put on me, I need to know the work is going to be done on time, safely, and correctly.  Belknap Landscape Company has the equipment and crews to ensure the job gets done.  I don’t worry about the roads not being plowed because a truck broke down. 

 Safety is of paramount importance at Samoset.  Families go there to vacation so there are lots of kids running around, in the driveways, lawns, and woods.  This is particularly important when we do tree removal and maintenance.  The buildings are in clusters of townhouses separated by wooded areas and lawn.  In the 30+ years since being built, many of the trees are now too large and too close to the buildings.  It’s a delicate balance working with homeowners; most of whom have differing opinions on tree work…often one person’s menace is another’s best friend.   Working closely with Belknap’s arborist, we’ve been able to manage the tree work each year to the point that for the first time in recent memory, “trees” weren’t even brought up at this year’s annual owner’s meeting!  We’ve been able to alleviate many problems and keep the peace. Budgets are always a concern, and with landscaping taking the lion’s share of most condo budgets associations must get great value in order to keep condo fees under control.  As with most things, lowest cost doesn’t necessarily mean best value.  We’re required to get multiple proposals for most contracts; while BLC isn’t always the lowest price, they are always competitive and their track record gives them a huge advantage in the “value equation.”  They know what’s expected, and they deliver.   Thirty years is a long time for any vendor /client relationship. 

Having an account manager, a single point of contact, really streamlines working with BLC.  Our account manager is the go to guy, but I’m able to communicate directly with the site foreman when the crews are on site about any issues or extra attention I need taken care of.  I’ve worked with most the crew managers for at least 5 seasons.  They know the property and what’s expected.

Dear Belknap,  thanks for an outstanding job at our lake house.,. the landscaping construction was terrific. I truly appreciated your consultative approach regarding the lighting. While not originally part of my plan,  your suggestions were great!!!
